The Gates Foundation Investing $20m for Game Based Learning

The Gates foundation has just announced that it will be investing $20 million for game-based learning. The money will make available to any teacher who wishes to use social network or web based games in the classroom.

    Is the money ear marked for public school teachers? While I certainly appreciate the value of an independent school education, I would love to see more resources to help bolster our public schools, as they experience dramatic cuts and increased class sizes.

      The official announcement does not make any distinction, but the Gates Foundation generally focuses on under-privileged communities and educational institutions. It will be an interesting element to follow. Thanks for making this point Michael!
