Smithsonian Tells the Story Behind Famous Photograph: Lunch Atop A Skyscraper

Today, Smithsonian Magazine highlights the story behind one of the most famous photographs ever taken: the image of 11Iron Workers enjoying lunch high above Manhattan.

The story behind the famous photograph is told in a captivating new documentary: “Men at Lunch.” The moviemaker has identified two of the men in the photograph and three candidates who may have been the photographer.  The film debuted at the Toronto Film Festival and will likely enjoy a wider release soon.
